Rules for the 2009 Dave Birthday Book

It's that time of year again! It's what we live for around this website. Dave's online Birthday Book for 2009 is officially 'on'.

There are a few rules that we have to go by and I need everyone that will be participating to please adhere to those rules as we don't want to cross any lines. Cool?

First of all, let's get all of the particulars out of the way.

Dave will be 40!!! on January 14, 2009.
Our deadline for your photoshopped happy birthday wishes will be Sunday, January 11, 2008 at 6pm Eastern Time (same time zone as New York City).
If you don't have computer 'skills' and just want to write a small note or happy birthday wish to Dave, you can send that in and we will put a nice border around it. The more contributions, the better the book.
We will be able to re-size your contribution if needed.
All submissions will become property of sweetparamania.com and that means that we can use them for future .. stuff. (future birthday book promotions, examples, etc.)
Once you send in your contribution, you will be sent a confirmation e mail back from me. If you do not receive a confirmation e mail within 24 hours, we did not receive your entry. Please re-send it.
Any notes that you do send in, please keep short and sweet. I can't post 3 page letters to Dave about how his hair rocked at that Pennsylvania show.
Most important: This is for Dave's Birthday. This is not a baby shower or a wedding party. We do not need to discuss his child, his wife, his family as that starts to cross lines and you look creepy. Anything with any sort of mention like this will be returned to you and you will be asked to either edit your contribution or not have it included. Believe it or not, I have seen some things over the past couple of years that really makes me worry about people. Just think of how you would like to be treated on YOUR birthday and what sort of greetings you would like to receive.

Don't wait until the last minute! Get your submissions in! I hear it EVERY year from people "Oh, I should have contributed.. the birthday book looks so good. I'll contribute next year." JUST DO IT!

And to inspire you even more, we're having a little contest for best birthday book contribution. Once the book is online in January, I will have two judges determine the best contribution. Your prize will be the following:

Metal Hammer Magazine complete with posters and stickers (and a Sweet Paramania.com mention!)
Set of guitar picks from the Echos, Silence, Patience & Grace tour (specifically from the Seattle, Washington show in July 2008)
