As far as updates and this website go, August 2009 is going down in Internet history. I can't believe I have an update almost every day.
Rolling Stone magazine Issue 1086 dated September 3, 2009 with *sigh* The Beatles on the cover has the following blurb and photo with Dave & his dad. (Click to enlarge):
Mr. Grohl looks like a pretty cool dude. The older one, not the younger one - although he seems pretty cool himself.

With all of the excitement yesterday over the nice Pukkelpop photos, I forgot to add these photos. These are actually some screen caps I got off of this video:
So here you go, kids. Enjoy.
There comes a point in your life where you sort of figure you should probably grow up and act your age (hello, 40? I'm knocking on your door..) but then you're presented with photographical evidence like this and you say 'screw it' and you just go ahead and click to enlarge the photos so that you can see even bigger versions of them:
Christ, almighty. Wow.
I'm not gonna lie.. I totally ripped these off from flickr or one of those sites. If you took them; thanks. No, really. Pukkelpop. Wow. Wish I had been there.
While we're at it, let's look at a few "Lowlands" concert photos as well:
If you are on Facebook, sign up on our new page there - we have a "Daily Dave" feature. You have to sign up though to get the full effect of it.
August turned out to be a great month!
LeAnn (Chicago on the Foo Fighters Postboard)snapped this photo in Las Vegas at the Hardrock Hotel & Casino. I think we all know who this handsome fella is:

LeAnn says: "Just wanted to send you this pic that I took out at the Hard Rock in Vegas back in April. They've got the new Joint built, and they've put pictures on the backs of the doors that lead into the venue now. This one of Dave was taken during the Vegas shows last September."
Thanks, LeAnn. I'll put my order in for some doors like that.
Joe Beebe is featured in a new article in Performing-Musician.com We all know BB of course as Dave's guitar tech and all around very cool dude. Check this article out as he talks about life on the road with Dave and company. Thanks to Jane & Emily for the scans and heads up on this!

When it rains around here, it POURS! So many updates and photos and info - it's keeping me busy this weekend.
Colm Mullan sent over the following e mail:
Just emailing to let you know, Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones & Josh Homme's new band, Them Crooked Vultures have an official website at http://www.themcrookedvultures.com They also have a MySpace, a Twitter and a Facebook page. You can find the links to all of these if you enter your email address on the frontpage (and the only page so far) of their site. Doing so leads you to a page that says "Deserve The Future". If you click on the first S in "Deserve", you get a link to the MySpace page, if you click on the T in "The" you get the Twitter account and if you click on the F in "Future" you get a Facebook link.
Make sure you check out yesterday's updates below. Lots of photos, video & info on what Dave has been up to!
UPDATE
Todd Bennett just sent over these photos taken today at the dedication of the alley way to Dave in Warren, Ohio. Congrats, Dave! These are great photos, Todd - thanks for sharing!
Dave Grohl, drummer for Nirvana and lead singer of the Foo Fighters, was honored in his hometown of Warren Ohio on Saturday August 1st, 2009. Capping off a weeklong music festival featuring local bands in honor of Grohl's achievement of having an alley named after him, the singer was gracious enough to attend the event. About 2,000 fans gathered in the small town square for his arrival. He came on stage and played with the band Love Turns Hate performing one of their songs before bridging into Rock and Roll by Led Zeppelin. After those two songs, he was given the key to the city and performed three of his songs acoustically including Times Like These, Hero, and Everlong. After unveiling the street sign, he went backstage with his family that still lives in the area and then came out and met his fans to sign autographs and take photos.

Photos by Danny Clinch
Family man, father, Foo Fighter front man, Dave Grohl is taking time off from the road this summer to focus on a newborn, recording new songs to be included on the forthcoming Foo Fighters Greatest Hits & probably a few other things. Doesn’t sound like much of a break and yet he still finds the road in the form of two, or as you’ll see, three wheels. Dave recently took an afternoon to talk about his riding history and its influence on his life & music.
Check out these photos taken by Clinch during the filming of Everything Sonic.
